Distracted driving remains a critical issue, especially among teenagers, who are at a pivotal stage of developing their driving habits. The integration of technology in daily life, while beneficial in many ways, poses significant risks when mixed with driving. The modern multitasking lifestyle can lead to overconfidence in one’s ability to manage multiple tasks, including driving while distracted by other activities such as cell phone use and passenger peer influence to entertain or engage 

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), distracted driving claimed 3,142 lives in 2019 alone and texting while driving increases the risk of a crash by 23 times. Teenagers, ages 16-19, are the most vulnerable age group, making distracted driving the leading cause of death for teens in the US. 

Recognizing the need for investing in quality safe driving awareness programs, and that education exists beyond academics, we understand that building safe-minded, confident and capable teens requires a proactive approach.
